Today my group and I spoke to Tom, who is helping us with the practicality of our opening sequence. We told him about our idea and then he gave his honest feedback. Tom told us that the idea of filming in the woods was unrealistic as the weather is unreliable. We decided to change the wood setting to a den they made in their room with blankets, pillows and fairy lights. We would make the den in a studio or in the same room as the exorcism. The aim would be to show the contrast of how the mood can change in the same room. We decided that at this point in the the girls relationship their feelings are getting stronger and they are realising how much they like each other. As the shots progress their feelings get more and more strong. We want this to represent forbidden lesbian relationships in the 1980s-1990s. Our whole piece is focused on contrasting moods, emotions and atmospheres. We found research that we based the exorcism one. The article was about a girl who's parents got the church to perform a exorcise to get the "demon lesbianism" out of her. Here's the article.
